Ok, so it’s Shanghai Science and Technology market again. But since it is home to so many different, precious departments, I can’t cover them all in one post. Especially that each of them deserves a separate one! The winter is officially here and if you are like me, you go over your winter clothes and somehow always realize you need a new coat. Or maybe you could survive without it, but would be nice to own another one. But of course, my sacred rule is, NO overspending. If you go to any of the stores like Zara or even H&M, buying a good quality coat might ‘downzise’ your account by around 1,000 – minimum! Plus be ready that this is a chain store, so seeing other girls in the street, wearing same outfit can happen quite frequently. And nobody likes fashion face –offs! So to kill two birds with one stone – save money and look pretty awesome, head to Shanghai Science and Technology Museum subway station ( line 2, Pudong). You will find it very easily, or if not, they will invite you themselves. Just like before, take escalator upstairs, after getting off the subway and when you look around, you will see their stands in no time. There are quite a few tailors there, and it’s really up to you which one you choose. I have my favorite but I think all of them are quite comparable. Just again, stick to a few rules of reasonable shopping there, and you will be fully satisfied. For spring coat, you can easily bargain for the price around 400 – 500.Depending how sophisticated it is. But honestly, just hone your Chinese, use it, or bring a friend and order two coats, and you will nail it. For winter one – I just got my beautiful, cashmere, asymmetric coat for 650.Of course, you need to wait a week after they take your measurements, but believe me – it will feel like your second skin! For shirts! Really amazing quality, cotton shirts – you can get one, tailor made, self designed, for 100 RMB. Nice skirt – about 150 – 200. And many , many more ! Anything conceivable you wish to wear – you name it, they make it! Remember! Never accept the first price, lower it at least 50 % so that you have some good buffer zone . And if they are stubborn, just do what I do – say politely ‘oh, well, I will find some better offer then ‘ and start walking out confidently. Works .ALWAYS!:)
