This post is about another amazing, talented, passionate woman that makes Shanghai rise by.. providing women, who live here ( and hopefully, soon even outside Shanghai!), with’ tools’ that make them radiant and healthy. Her name is Adja Lalu and the’ tools’ are 100% natural body scrubs and butters with ultimately alluring scents! If you read my posts carefully, you already know that I am one, crazy fanatic of healthy lifestyle and ‘smart’ beauty that comes from inside as well as using natural products for skin care as frequently as possible. That’s why I was more than excited when my friend, Shanghai Hunter, introduced me to Lalu last month. I believe it is always interesting to know who stands behind the brand, so here are a few essential facts about Adja. She comes from Senegal but was raised in France and became one of Shanghai’s ‘laowais’ a few years ago. Since she was used to a certain quality of cosmetics that were part of her beauty routine back in France ,she didn’t want to give up on finding anything of lower quality here, in Shanghai. Her searches failed, but Lalu, fortunately, stayed determined and because necessity is the mother of invention, she decided to make her own products. And I am really thankful that she shared her ‘treasures’ with the rest of us. I bet we all know that if you put all your heart and passion into something, it will be an immediate success. And the same happened in Lalu’s case. She puts her all self into her ‘babies’ ,including her beautiful smile ( I am sure she can’t stop smiling while being in the process of ‘manufacturing’) and it definitely translates into the quality of her products. I have already tried a few of her amazing scrubs: ’Oatmeal coconut cookie’ which is my face and lips’ best friend ( with oatmeal , brown sugar, baking soda, cocounut oil, hazelnut, aloe vera and vitamin E ), Spiced mix ( consisting of Cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, orange,avocado oil, tea tree oil and grapeseed oil) and lavender coconut oil (with sugar, lavender, coconut oil,sunflower oil, sugar, vitamin E and tea tree oil). If you asked me to describe Lalu’s cosmetics in one sentence, I would tell you – THEY ARE THE BEST THING THAT COULD HAPPEN TO MY SKIN.PERIOD.NO SECOND THOUGHTS. If you go to any beauty store, you will find an overwhelming variety of products, but…well, they are not 100% natural, and you have to fork out A LOT for those claiming to be completely organic. What makes Lalu’s products exceed the rest is the fact that next to being COMPLETELY natural, they are also UNBELIEVABLY affordable : you will pay 88 RMB for a jar that should last for quite a long time.
